About

You shall be a crown of glory
In the hand of the LORD,
And a royal diadem
In the hand of your God.
You shall no longer be termed Forsaken,
Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate;
But you shall be called
Hephzibah, and your land
Beulah;
For the Lord delights in you,
And your land shall be married.

Indeed, the LORD has proclaimed
To the end of the world:
"Say to the daughter of Zion,
'Surely your salvation is coming;
Behold, His reward is with Him,
And His work before Him.'"
And they shall call them
The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the LORD;
And you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.

-Isaiah 62:3-4, 11-12-

I am of the sort that sees the world on two different planes--the World as it Is and the World as it Should Be. I have a deep and intense longing in my soul that carves trenches into my heart--I want to see my Jesus and I want to see Him make all things new. I want to see brokenness unwound from the heart of the lonely, I want to see homes and families built around the orphan, I want to see love push back the edges of the dark night until there are no shadows remaining. I am of the sort that takes life seriously, because it is, after all, life abundant--but for that very reason, I am also of the sort that relishes laughter and silly jokes and believe wholeheartedly that God has the best sense of humor. I am of the sort that thinks that music and poetry and novels and art and those sorts of things are soul-speak, expressing the depths of what cannot otherwise be expressed. I am of the sort that likes mismatching socks and colorful skirts and stripes--just because I can.

I am the sort that was Sought Out. And I like it that way quite a lot.

    1. Aw, thanks Abigail! :-) I unfortunately do not play the mandolin...I was messing around with it since it has the same tuning as a violin. Fun stuff. :-)
